Portlandia candles make perfect gifts! Our candles are vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, and phthalate-free. We use only 100% natural soy and coconut wax made in the USA, and the finest fragrances and essential oils to create unique aroma profiles not found in other candle lines. Our large candles have a burn time of approximately 60 hours, with enough scent throw to make your whole space smell amazing.
Portlandia soy and coconut candles not only have conversation starting names, they also have some of the best signature scents. For example our best selling candle is My Wife’s Snatch, with its fabulous name and the rad scent blend of Peaches, Ginger, Italian Bergamot and a hint of Neroli. It is either everything or nothing like your wife’s snatch, but I guarantee our Snatch is the best smelling snatch you’ve ever sniffed.
We proudly offer three options for our conversation starters. You can get a 4oz candle in our gold tin; this will have about a 10-12 hour burn time. You can get our beautiful 10oz candle in the 100% recycled Spanish glass jar; this will have a burn time of 50-60 hours. Or you can get our Wax Crack (our version of melts/tarts) to put in your wax melter; you get a pound of wax chips so you can make this bag last as long or as short as you want. We do recommend going small and changing them every day or so in order to get the maximum scent load.

Candles For Men…
Portlandia candles aren’t just for men. Seriously, everyone will absolutely love our candles. BUT, founder Teddy did feel the general lack of candle space for men, specifically. Correspondingly, our scents appeal to all genders and gender neutrals, our artwork is deceptively suggestive and rollicking, and the candle names are whimsical enough that your friends of all stripes will appreciate them. Portlandia Candle Company is veteran owned by two former Navy cooks and a high ranking civilian broad (she insisted we call her that).
BURNING INSTRUCTIONS
Candles have a burning process, believe it or not. This is not the wild west of just light it and go! No, no! If you want the full benefit of your Portlandia Candle, here are few steps to make it successful.
Light your candle when you have a couple of hours to let it burn. Ever had those candles that just seem to tunnel down the middle and not ever burn all the way to the edge? Could be because they didn’t get a chance. Each time you burn a candle you want to give it at least 1 hour per inch across. Our large candles are 3.5” across, so this means you need to let it burn for at least 3.5 hours before you blow it out. This allows the burn pool to get all the way across so it’ll burn evenly all the way down.
Never light your candle, then leave it lit when you leave the house. Always monitor your candle, not just because you don’t want it to burn down your house, but also because you want to enjoy that smell!
Wax Crack (our version of melts/tarts) should be changed out frequently. These are like little candles, but the wax doesn’t burn off. The scent will, though, so change them out every couple of days to get the best smell.
